QUESTIONS ABOUT MATERIAL, PRODUCTION AND SUSTAINABILITY:
All rugs are manufactured under fair and sustainable working conditions in Sweden. The robot tufting process used is particularly resource-friendly and perfectly suited for on-demand production. In this process, the virgin wool yarn is machine-stitched into a stretched backing cloth and then permanently fixated onto the fabric with a high-quality acrylic binder. For a particularly high durability of the rug, the fixation is additionally sealed by a second coating, in which a cotton fabric is incorporated for reinforcement. Finally, the rug is carefully sheared to obtain an even rug surface.

The pile material of our rugs consists of 100% mulesing-free new wool from New Zealand cross-breed sheep. The high-quality raw wool is processed into rug yarn in a traditional spinning mill in Belgium and dyed in a lightfast way, which ensures that it retains its vibrant colors for a long time.
We only use virgin wool without chemical moth protection and therefore recommend regular vacuuming of the rug surface (about once a week). Our yarn is dyed lightfast and thus permanently retains its vibrant colors.
The dispersion acrylic binder we use is water-based, without plasticizers, odorless and very low in emissions.
Our backing cloth is a particularly tear-resistant polyester fabric which, unlike natural fiber cloths, perfectly meets the mechanical requirements of the robot tufting process. The special fabric properties also ensure a long service life for our products.

CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR OUR RUGS:
The surface of your rug is worked as a cut pile. Since wool is not a continuous fibre, there are still short fibre particles in the wool yarn that are not connected to the basic fabric. These individual wool fibres work their way out of the rug surface during the first period of use and are deposited there. The formation of lint is therefore quite normal and does not affect the quality or life span of the rug. It only requires more frequent vacuuming of the rug during the first weeks of use.
We recommend vacuuming the rug once or several times a week with a powerful hoover, depending on the degree of use. This regular maintenance usually removes all kinds of wear and tear and fully restores the pile fibres so that the bold colours and graphic shapes of the rug surface are always brilliantly displayed. When vacuuming, we recommend working in parallel paths and in one direction. This way you will get a homogeneous refraction of the pile surface. By the way, our rugs are produced without the use of chemical moth protection. Regular vacuuming of the entire rug surface is therefore also recommended to prevent potential damage from insects.
In the case of damp stains (e.g. juice or coffee), please absorb as much of the liquid as possible as quickly as possible with a clean, preferably white cotton or microfibre cloth. Afterwards, you can — if necessary — rework the stain with a commercially available, biological stain remover. Always allow solid stains to dry first and then carefully scrape them off with a spoon. Then treat the residue in the same way as damp stains. When removing stains, please do not work on the pile by strong friction, but work by dabbing or gentle friction from the edge of the stain to its centre.
You can safely cut off individual pile threads protruding from the rug pile in the area of the pile height with nail scissors. Please guide the scissors flat over the general pile to avoid damaging the pile surface. Please do not pull on the threads! These threads were previously hidden in the dense pile and were therefore not detected with the final shearing of the rug. They only emerge from the substrate during use and by cleaning with the hoover.
It is not advisable to clean the entire rug yourself beyond the measures described above; this could result in a stained appearance of the rug. Instead, the rug should be professionally cleaned. Because of the acrylic binder used to fix the pile threads, dry cleaning is not recommended. In addition to the use of dry cleaning agents, we recommend the use of the so-called spray extraction method. This is a surface cleaning with a professional cleaning machine using commercially available cleaning agents without mechanical action on the rug pile.
If possible, the rug should be rotated about once or twice a year to avoid »running lines«.
